Management Issues
The Murray-Darling Basin is one of the best-managed systems in the world despite its many known problems.
The rivers and tributaries within the Basin have become multi-use resources. Both water and land are utilised in agricultural, industry, households and for recreation. Demand and alterations to the Basin has left it with a number of problems such as: salinity, erosion, pollution, carp, etc. To keep using the wealth of resources provided by the Murray-Darling Basin it is important that we understand its problems and manage them accordingly.
