The company operates a fleet of vehicles, which bring raw materials into the Willunga and Dublin depots, and deliver processed materials throughout the state. Peats Soil produce an extensive range of quality soil mixes and mulches ideal for use in the home garden through to large landscape development projects. Peats Soil is at the forefront of the Green Organics recycling process. Organic materials are collected from selected council areas, passed through a stringent composting process then developed into a valuable nutrient source and soil conditioner. Extensive markets have been developed for these products with the Nitra Mulch® name being widely recognised throughout the viticultural and allied intensive farming sectors. QUALITY AND THE FUTURE Peats Soil undertook product certification to AS-3743 in January 1993 and by June 1993 the first soil was approved by Quality Assurance Services. Since then many more have been approved. A soil scientist is on staff at Peats Soil to ensure ongoing consistency and quality throughout the product range. The home gardener and commercial growers alike are able to use Peats Soil products with confidence both now and in the future. Peats Soil have also successfully gained certification with NASAA for the input of certified products into organic farming. ORGANIC RECYCLING - THE GREEN STORY Peats Soil have a goal to recycle products and are proud to be leading the field in the development of organic farm and garden products. Recycled green organics are blended with other organic ingredients and composted to produce rich mulches and soil conditioners, which are ideal nutrient and humic acid sources. These products are ideal for use in landscaping, horticulture, agriculture, forestry, highways, land regeneration and home gardens. The composting process takes the material through a thermophilic stage killing all plant pathogens and nutrient immobilisers therefore allowing the release of trace elements and macronutrients. Nitra Mulch® is a registered name of one of these products and is available in several grades to create an 'all in one' product for single application purposes. In 1996 the concept of the BiobiN® was developed. The use of the BiobiN® has revolutionised the collection of organic material. All composting is done according to the Composting Best Practice Report as handed down by the Waste Management Association of Australia. All composting operations on our sites at Willunga and Dublin are covered by license from the Environmental Protection Authority.
