SA Department of Water, Land and Biodiversity Conservation
The Department of Water, Land and Biodiversity Conservation (DWLBC) is responsible for policy and management of South Australia's natural land and water resources. It delivers a range of policies, programs and advice on practices relating to the integrated management of productive land and water resources.
The focus of DWLBC will be the development and management of sustainable practices and policies that promote development without adverse impacts on biodiversity. This includes the River Murray.

South Australian Department for Environment and Heritage
The Department for Environment and Heritage is concerned with the conservation, protection and enhancement of the State's environmental resources and natural and built heritage.
Through their site, you will be able to explore the functions, programs and structure of the many, varied businesses of the Department, including National Parks and Wildlife SA, the Botanic Gardens, Plant Biodiversity Centre, Environment Protection Agency, and Heritage SA.

Primary Industries and Resources SA
Primary Industries and Resources SA (PIRSA) is a key economic development agency within the South Australian Government, supporting industries. PIRSA's website contains up-to-date information on a wide range of topics related to primary industries and resources.
Its business activities include:
· Sustainable resources management including soil, landcare and productive use of water · Agricultural and horticultural industry and policy development · Fisheries and aquaculture management and industry development
· Rural and remote community support services. PIRSA also plays a leading role in research and development through the South Australian Research and Development Institute.

NSW Department of Sustainable Natural Resources
The Department of Sustainable Natural Resources role is to help the community to obtain the maximum benefit from its limited, and sometimes fragile, natural resources.
The department expects to achieve its vision, which is to work together to achieve healthy and productive environments for present and future generations, through integrated catchment management, ie the coordinated and sustainable management of the State's natural resources.

Victorian Department of Primary Industries and Department for Sustainability and Environment
The Department of Primary Industries is responsible for the areas of minerals and petroleum, agriculture and fisheries.
The Department of Sustainability and Environment is responsible for the environmental functions of the previous NRE and the planning functions of the Department of Infrastructure.
The role of both departments is to deliver, efficiently and effectively, high quality services and products, which achieve the policy outcomes that Government has established on behalf of the people of Victoria.

QLD Department of Natural Resources and Mines
The vision of the Department of Natural Resources and Mines (NR&M) is for 'enhanced community benefit through sustainable natural resource management'. NR&M plays a critical role in stewardship of Queensland's natural resources.
The department manages and allocates the State's land, water, mineral and petroleum resources, and manages native vegetation and the control of pest plants and animals.
Within a framework of extensive legislation and policies, which have been developed through exhaustive consultation processes between key government and industry stakeholders, client groups, Indigenous people and the community, the department has discrete planning and management responsibilities for these natural resources.

Environment ACT
Environment ACT, the ACT Government agency working for a sustainable high quality natural and cultural environment for all Environment ACT brings together the areas responsible for managing the environment into one central agency.
Environment ACT is here to:
· develop and implement policies and programs that support the Government's environmental and heritage policies and commitments;
· manage, protect and conserve the natural and cultural resources of the ACT, including our nature parks and reserves;
· assist with the conservation of plant and animal species within the Territory; · develop and administer environmental protection legislation concerning air, water, noise, ozone and chemicals;

· respond to public enquiries and complaints regarding environmental matters;

SA Environment Protection Authority (EPA)
South Australia's primary environmental regulator, responsible for the protection of air and water quality, and control of pollution, waste, noise and radiation.
The SA EPA administrates the Environment Protection Act and Radiation Protection and Control Act.
